Known as the flagship of Trenitalia's high-speed services, Frecciarossa trains make about 200 connections across Italy per day, including major destinations like Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice and Naples. Translating to 'Red Arrow' in English, Frecciarossa trains reach speeds of 300 km/h thanks to some very clever engineering. Combine this with their comfortable ultramodern design, and you’re all set to be whisked around Italy in style. Designed by the Italian company Ansaldo Breda, Frecciarossa trains exist in two types – Frecciarossa ETR 1000, introduced in 2015, and Frecciarossa ETR 500.
