Great Western Railway recommend that you make a reservation for your full-sized bike wherever you’re given the option. Booking a bike space is compulsory on their high-speed Intercity Express services.
There are also some stations where full-sized bikes are not permitted during Peak Times:
If you’re taking a fold-up bike on board there’s no need for a reservation, but you must be able to carry the bike and fit it in the luggage rack on the train.
