A digital Season ticket allows you to travel at any time of day, and as much as you want for a specified period of time between the two stations shown on your ticket.
Digital Season tickets live in your Trainline app on your phone, so you don’t need to queue at the station to collect a paper ticket.
Also, on certain routes you won’t need a separate paper Photocard (except for some digital barcode Season tickets, only available on some routes). That’s one thing you won’t have to remember when leaving the house!
We can help you find new ways to save and be in control of your commute, with live times, real-time platform info and digital tickets all in one place for smoother travel.

When buying a digital Season ticket, you have four options to choose from.
Travel as much as you want for seven days – that's so much cheaper than buying four daily return tickets.
Travel at any time of day and as much as you want for one calendar month – that works out a lot cheaper than buying four Weekly Season Tickets.
Travel at any time of day and as much as you want for a year between the two stations – that’s so much cheaper than buying monthly or weekly train tickets throughout the year.
8 days of unlimited travel between two stations over a 28-day period. You can choose which 8 days you travel on – perfect if you’re only heading into the office twice a week.
Feeling inspired? You can buy your digital Season ticket online with us rather than having to queue at the station to buy it on the day of travel. Simply open your Trainline app and follow these simple steps:
* Please note that it’s not possible to use a Railcard with Season tickets as they’re already discounted. The exceptions are the 16-17 Saver, Highland Railcards, Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card, TfW 18 Saver Railcard, TfW Student Railcard, Valleys Student Railcard and Young Scot National Entitlement Card. These can be applied on selected journeys in their area of validity (for example, a TfW Student Railcard gets you a discount on Season tickets in Wales only). When asked by rail staff, you must show a valid ticket and your valid Railcard signed by you (plus your Railcard Photocard if required).
