Flexi Season tickets

A Flexi Season ticket is a new, more flexible type of Season ticket that allows 8 days of travel in 28 days.  You’ll have 8 Day Passes to use as part of your Flexi Season ticket. You get unlimited travel between your two chosen stations from the time you activate your Day Pass until 4:29 am the next morning. A Flexi Season ticket is great for commuters travelling during peak times 2 days a week, Monday to Friday, as it offers an alternative to a traditional Weekly Season Ticket.

Ready to go with your Flexi Season ticket? Open our app and tap ‘Download Flexi ticket’ to load your Day Passes onto your phone. You’ll need to be connected to mobile data or WiFi for the download to work – and remember to check your phone has enough charge for your journey! If you can’t show your Flexi Season ticket, you’ll have to buy a new ticket.

When you’re at the station, tap 'Activate Pass' to get going. That’ll let you travel as much as you want in one day between the stations on your Flexi Season ticket. At the barriers? Just press 'View Pass' and scan your barcode. Simple.

If barcode tickets are already available on your route for single and return tickets, then you will be able to get your Flexi Season ticket as a barcode ticket without having to get a Smartcard. Look out for the barcode icon when you search for a Flexi Season ticket on our app.

No. Flexi Season tickets are not available to use on London Underground or Overground services, including for Season tickets that include a Travelcard.

Season tickets are available in First Class and have Child options, while Flexi Seasons come in Standard Class only as they are aimed at commuters travelling during Peak times, Monday to Friday, 2-3 days a week.

Yes, unless it is for a specified operator or route. If this is the case, it will be stated at the time of purchase.

You must apply for a refund before the end of the 28-day validity period. The refund will be calculated based on the price of an Anytime return ticket for the journey your Flexi Season is valid for, the number of travel days used within the ticket's validity, minus a £10 admin fee.

Yes. 16-17 Saver and Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Cardholders are able to get 50% off their Flexi Season ticket. However, no other Railcard or group discounts apply to Flexi Season tickets.

To know how many days you’ve got left in the 28-day validity period, simply check how many unactivated Day Passes you have. When you open your Flexi Season ticket in the Trainline app, we’ll show you how many passes you have left (and when you need to use them by) just underneath the origin and destination stations on the screen.
