A 15-minute walk from Ealing West through the bustling residential west London suburb takes you to the oldest continuously working film production studio in the world, Ealing Studios. Downton Abbey's 'downstairs' and 2004's cult classic Shaun of the Dead amongst many, many other well-loved TV series, documentaries and films were filmed in the iconic studios. The area is home to movie-makers and musicians, and the Summer Festival pulls in big crowds from around the world.
A stroll in the opposite direction along the tree-lined Gordon Road towards Haven Green takes you to one of the most important places in British music heritage, Ealing Blues Club, where the Rolling Stones formed and many first-generation British rock legends perfected their art. But if music and film don't rock your boat, West Ealing station, in Travelcard Zone 3, gives visitors easy access to Ealing's parks and a tremendous selection of independent shops, restaurants and pubs to the south of the station.
