TGV Lyria are high-speed trains that are part of a collaboration between the Swiss and French national train companies, SBB and SNCF respectively.
Connecting Switzerland to France at speeds of up to 320 km/h, TGV Lyria trains call at main cities like Paris, Dijon, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich every day — as well as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille during the summertime.
TGV Lyria’s Business Class is available all week except on Saturdays and connects Paris to Geneva, Paris to Lausanne, Paris to Basel, Paris to Zurich, Dijon to Basel and Dijon to Zurich.
Enjoy a welcome drink and meal, a wide range of local and international magazines and newspapers and relax. You’ll also get free access to the SNCF Grand Voyageur Lounge at Paris Gare de Lyon station, as well as the flexibility to take any train that goes to your destination any time of the day.
Standard 1re is TGV Lyria’s First Class, which offers more legroom plus larger and more comfortable seats. Buying a Standard 1re ticket also allows you free access to the SNCF Grand Voyageur Lounge at Paris Gare de Lyon station. What’s more, if your Standard 1re ticket is Flex, you can take any of the trains going to your destination at any time of the day.

Despite being TGV Lyria’s Second Class, you’ll still find very comfortable seats and a restaurant car. Again, you’ll be able to board any train that goes to your destination any time of the day if you have a Flex ticket.
In general, TGV Lyria offers three ticket fares – the cheapest, the semi-flexible and the most flexible one. Have a look at our table below, we've broken down their main features for you.
Flex ticket |
This is TGV Lyria’s most flexible ticket fare. It can be both exchanged and refunded free of charge. |
Semi-Flex ticket | The Semi-Flex ticket is both exchangeable and refundable with a fee of €30. You can exchange your ticket or ask for a refund up to the departure time of your train. |
Non-Flex ticket | This ticket is the cheapest, but it’s non-exchangeable and non-refundable. |
If you’re travelling with children, don’t forget to book the Family Area, a 4-person face-to-face seating area that is separated from the rest of the coach by a glass panel. You’ll also find a baby-changing area with a changing table and bottle warmer.
Small pets may travel with TGV Lyria, as long as they are carried in a carrier or container no larger than 45 x 30 x 25 cm (15.7” x 11.8” x 9.84”). Pets must be placed on your lap or by your feet and must travel with their own ticket at a flat rate of €7 ($7.63).
Dogs on a leash may travel on TGV Lyria trains, but they must be muzzled throughout the journey and placed by your feet. Passengers must pay a flat-rate ticket fee of €20 ($21.79).
You can travel with your bike for free only if disassembled and placed in special bags of 120 x 90 cm.
