Ouibus, formerly called iDBus, is a low-cost bus service created by SNCF in 2012. Ouibus operates buses in France primarily and also in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands. From €9, you can travel all over France and Europe. Ouibus tickets can be exchanged and cancelled up to 30 minutes before departure, free of charge on the website or via the Ouibus app.
You also have the possibility to do it directly in an Ouibus shop or by calling their customer service. Be careful that these two services are not free. You will be able to cancel or modify your bus ticket for €5 fee per passenger at a point of sale and €10 by phone.
Good to know — Only standard tickets can be cancelled and will be refunded as Ouibus vouchers.
Boarding is usually done 15 minutes before departure, so make sure to leave plenty of time. The bus driver will check the bus ticket and your identity before assigning you a seat number.
You will need your identity papers: identity card or passport if you are a French and/or European citizen, passport and visa if you are non-European.
Travelling with children
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and only infants from 0 to 24 months are entitled to a 50% discount on the standard ticket. Minors aged between 12 and 16 can travel alone in France if they have obtained an authorization signed by their legal representative. Children up to 16 years cannot travel alone internationally.
First class comfort
All the comfort of a first class seat, with its reclining backrest, adjustable footrest and plenty of legroom. You will also be able to sideways two seats, for even more space during the trip.
Travelling with animals
Animals are not allowed on Ouibus.
Luggage
You can carry two pieces of hand luggage and two checked baggage for free, per passenger. Checked baggage cannot exceed 20 kg and 200 cm (sum of the lengths, depths and widths of the luggage). However, it should be noted that you will only be able to take one piece of checked baggage per person on the Paris - London route.
Wi-fi and electrical outlet
Each coach has sockets by the seat and free (but limited) wifi.
Breaks
Long distance means long journey. Breaks are planned to stretch your legs and do some shopping in the motorway service areas.
The city of Paris is very well served in terms of Ouibus. More than 11 points of departure are scattered throughout the French capital, including Paris Bercy station, Porte d'Orléans and Porte Maillot, but also Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Orly airport.
Whether you are travelling from Lyon Perrache or Lyon Part-Dieu, you can go anywhere in France and Europe.
Leaving from Lille opens Benelux's doors. You will find your meeting point right in front of the Lille-Europe train station, Boulevard de Turin.
