Travelling with East Midlands Railway from Nottingham to London

I was heading back to London after a day out in Nottingham with friends and arrived at the station around 20 minutes before my train was due to leave. I already had my ticket on my phone so I had time to grab a coffee before heading down to the platform to catch my train.

Travelling with East Midlands Railway

I hopped on my train on platform 7 and it was easy to find my seat as the electronic signs above each row showed the numbers clearly. I had a table seat for my trip down to London which was nice as I had plenty of space for my water bottle and Kindle, and there was a plug socket under the table too so I could keep my phone charged up.

We made three stops along the way, but the journey from Nottingham to London only took an hour and a half, which felt like it whizzed by quickly. One part I love about the trip into London is that you know you’re getting close when you catch a glimpse of Wembley Stadium out of the left window.

Arriving into London St Pancras train station

I stepped off the train onto the platform and scanned my eticket at the barrier to head into the main station. St Pancras is always so eye-catching when you arrive with its iconic arched roof and Tracey Emin’s ‘I Want My Time With You’ writing suspended above the Grand Terrace. The escalator took me down into a row of shops, which I passed as I headed to the Underground to catch the tube.
