What is a Network Railcard?
A Network Railcard is a discount card that makes train travel cheaper for anyone in the Network Railcard area (London and the South-East of England) for a whole year.
A Network Railcard holder can enjoy 1/3 off on adult Standard Anytime and Off-Peak fares, including Anytime Day Travelcards (when bought as part of your ticket to London from outside London Zones 1-9) around London and the South East.

The Network Railcard costs £30 and is valid for 12 months.
Who can use a Network Railcard?
The Network Railcard is valid for one adult aged 16+. You can travel with up to three adults and they'll get the same 1/3 off. You can also bring up to four children aged 5-15, with 60% off on child fares.

Where can I use a Network Railcard?
You can use a Network Railcard only to travel within the Network Railcard area – it covers all the stations inside the white area on our Network Railcard map. Some of the most popular stations in the Network Railcard area include Cambridge, Brighton, Oxford, Richmond, Portsmouth and Southsea, Southampton Central, Reading, Gatwick Airport, Windsor and Eton, and Winchester, to name a few. Your Network Railcard will be valid on all highlighted routes, which are run by the following train companies:
c2c, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, East Midland Railway, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Great Western Railway, Greater Anglia, Heathrow Connect, Heathrow Express, London Northwestern Railway, LNER, London Overground, Southeastern, Southern, South Western Railway, Stansted Express, TfL Rail, Thameslink, Avanti West Coast.
Please note that certain journeys with these train companies may not be covered with the Network Railcard, for example journeys that end up outside the Network Railcard area – see our Network Railcard map for more details.

How to buy and use your digital Network Railcard
You'll need to have iOS 15.0 and above or Lollipop on Android to get your digital Network Railcard on your phone. Don’t have our app yet? Download it now and follow these easy steps to buy your Network Railcard today with us.

Tap 'Buy 1-year for £30' or 'Buy 3-year for £70' (if applicable) to get the Railcard you want on your phone

Enter your first and last name (and date of birth if you need to prove your age)

Upload a digital passport-style photo for your Railcard from your phone

Sign in to your Trainline account on the app and buy your digital Railcard

You’ll find your new Railcard under 'Railcards' in the Account tab of the app. Please make sure you're signed into the app with the same account you used to buy your Railcard

Enter your departure and arrival station, select the start date of your ticket and the number of people travelling, then select your new Railcard from the drop-down menu – the 1/3 savings will be applied automatically to your booking.

Save on train travel in London and the South East with a Network Railcard
Having family and friends living in London and the South East of England, I was looking for a way to save money on my train journey when visiting them. Luckily, I’ve found the Network Railcard – paying just £30, I can use my Railcard for one year to get 1/3 off most rail fares for journeys in the Network Railcard area, which includes even Exeter and Kings Lynn!
For example, I used to pay up to £30 for a return ticket when travelling to Canterbury, I can now save up to £10 with my Network Railcard. I don’t just use my Railcard to save on rail travel though – I use it to get discounts on bus travel to and from the station, as well as ferries to the Isle of Wight, what’s not to like?
Buying a Railcard with Trainline is super simple too. You just need to provide your first and last name and a passport-style photo, then you can download your Railcard to the Trainline app to use it straightaway – no paper, no fuss!
