Trains to Maryland

Maryland isn't one of London's most famous areas, but its station is an important commuter stop - it takes local residents into London Liverpool Street in just over ten minutes and connects to the Shenfield interchange in Essex. Located on the Great Eastern Main Line, it's just to the northeast of fast-developing Stratford, which was the epicentre of Britain's Olympic Games in 2012. The wider area continues to thrive, as the Olympic Park and the Westfield shopping centre bring in new businesses, residents and visitors. Maryland station started life as a single-platform stop in 1873, expanding to four lines in 1891. Only two lines are regularly used today. While most of the action in the area is around Stratford, you'll find a cluster of local shops around the roundabout just north of the station. In the middle of the roundabout is the Time Spiral, a twisted clock by sculptor Malcolm Robertson, originally located in Stratford.
