There are different train companies operating within Scotland. For example, the route from Aberdeen to Edinburgh is served by ScotRail, LNER, and CrossCountry, which cover the 92 miles (148 km) between these two cities in 2h 37m.
One of the most popular routes from England to Scotland is from London to Edinburgh. Depending on the train station you’re starting your journey from, you can take an LNER or Lumo service from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh or an Avanti West Coast train from London Euston to Edinburgh – the journey is slightly shorter if you’re travelling from London Kings Cross (4h 56m), so take the LNER if you want to reach your destination the fastest way possible. Planning to travel from London to Edinburgh in the evening? Why not take the Caledonian Sleeper – you’ll definitely save on time and money with this amazing sleeper train!
