There are different train companies operating in Wales. For example, the route from Swansea to Cardiff is operated by GWR and Transport for Wales in just 1h 7m on their fastest services. One of the most popular routes from England to Wales is from Liverpool to Cardiff, which takes around 3h 30m. As there are no direct trains connecting these cities, you’ll need to first take a West Midlands Railway service from Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe and then change onto a Transport for Wales train bound for Cardiff.
