Nearest train station to the Lake District

The nearest train station to the Lake District is Oxenholme Rail Station, which serves as a good base to explore Kendal and the surrounding areas. Other trains stations in the Lake District

Depending on which part of the Lake District you wish to visit, you can also get trains to Windermere, Carlisle, Barrow, Kendal and Penrith. When travelling from within England you can get connections to the Lake District from many of the main stations, including Manchester, Newcastle, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, York and Leeds.

Heading to Kendal Calling? 

Taking place in the Lake District since 2006, Kendal Calling has called Lowther Deer Park home since 2009. Over the years, music acts such as Basement Jaxx, the Libertines and Catfish and the Bottleman have graced the main stage.

Penrith is the nearest station to the festival, just a 15-minute taxi ride away. There will also be a shuttle bus service running from the station to the campsite throughout the weekend.
