Killing Eve is a spectacular show in its own right — but watching it live when the pandemic’s lockdowns were in full swing was a glorious way to fuel wanderlust without leaving the couch.
This dark comedy drama with even darker, near-comical acts of violence, took viewers along for the ride across Europe. Opting to film on-location wherever and whenever possible (spoiler alert: every episode will have you clutching your passport and planning a trip), Killing Eve’s filming locations are in some of Europe’s finest cities.

Villanelle was resourceful and creative — but the production crew didn’t need to be. Many of the Killing Eve filming locations in Europe were the real-deal, shot on location and accessible by train.

Combat boots and a bubblegum pink dress: the second episode of Killing Eve gives us a shot of Villanelle in the Place Vendôme looking absolutely iconic.
Romanian Athenaeum | Bucharest, Romania
Closest station: București Basarab | Universitate (Metro)
This gorgeous concert hall was converted into Café Radozhny for the climax of Season1.
Our favorite Killing Eve locations Season 2
Banking Hall | London, England
Closest station: Cannon Street | Bank Underground Station
The interior of this Grade-II listed building was the former headquarters of Lloyds and is now a modest bank. Apart from the beautiful geometric flooring pattern, we love this scene in particular because it once again showcases Jodie Comer’s talented accent skills.

This small village where they staged “Poland” scenes is a UNESCO World Heritage site that has a fortress and also a guest house belonging to King Charles.

Sessions Arts Club | London, England
Closest station: Farringdon
This swanky restaurant was an admirable Havana, Cuba stand-in when the pandemic made Killing Eve’s usual filming locations near-impossible.
Dreamland | Margate, England
Closest station: Margate
One of the oldest amusement parks in the UK, the Dreamland and Margate Beach scenes bring an eerie sense of serenity to a season creeping with dread.
Killing Eve London locations
…some that weren’t “London” in the series. Although so many Killing Eve filming locations are the true-blue locales, two of these three did some globetrotting without leaving the UK:
- New Malden (station: New Malden). London’s Koreatown, where Eve holed up.
- Fabric nightclub (station: Farringdon). It posed as a Berlin nightclub.
- Hornsey Town Hall (station: Harringay). It mimicked Russia’s Hotel Atlasov.
Killing Eve Amsterdam locations
Villanelle has some, erhm, work to do in Amsterdam in Season 2:
- The Rijksmuseum (metro: Vijzelgracht). Where Villanelle finds “inspiration”.
- De Belhamel (station: Amsterdam Centraal). Where Villanelle hilariously shuts down a tourist’s photo request.
- Koningsstraat 7 (metro: Nieuwmakrt). A faux Red Light District window where Villanelle’s latest creative expression is showcased.
Killing Eve Rome locations
Season 2 sees both Eve and Villanelle in Italy, both in Rome, and just outside of the Eternal City:
- Cafe Garibaldi (station: Poggibonsi-S. Gimignano train station). In the town of Colle di Val d’Elsa.
- Villa Adriana (station: Tivoli train). Roman ruins in Tivoli for the final scene of the season.
- Aaron Peel’s palazzo in Rome (station: Roma San Pietro). Palazzo Baldoca Muccioli.

What is Killing Eve about?
Killing Eve is about an MI5 intelligence officer, Eve, who is recruited by the secretive MI6 to capture the psychotic assassin, Villanelle. A game of cat-and-mouse develops into a dangerous obsession with one another, taking both women down paths of self-destruction and self-actualization.
Who is in Killing Eve?
Killing Eve stars Sandra Oh (Under the Tuscan Sun) as Eve and Jodie Comer as Villanelle. Series mainstays include Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter) and Kim Bodnia, and features Nina Sosanya (Love Actually), Anjana Vasan (Black Mirror), Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Camille Cottin (House of Gucci), and Edward Bluemel (Sex Education).
Was Killing Eve based on a true story?
No, even though this spy-versus-spy story seems like it could come from declassified history, Killing Eve is not based on a true story. The BBC show was born out of the novellas written by Luke Jennings.
Will there be a Killing Eve Season 5?
The short answer is: no. Killing Eve originally did have a Season 5 planned but the series was instead canceled and Season 4 was given a finale-style ending.
Where is Villanelle’s apartment in Killing Eve?
Villanelle is a woman of many skills, many aliases, and many places to call home. In Season 1, her apartment is in the sixth arrondissement of Paris (near the Paris Montparnasse train station) but the interiors are shot on a set in London. Villanelle’s Spanish apartment, however, is open for rent. It’s called Le Casa Ramos, located at the Lesseps Metro station. Rent it if you want: it’s on Airbnb under the listing “Our house: Architects’ flat”.
Where is Killing Eve filmed?
A better question would be where was Killing Eve *not* filmed. Killing Eve was all over the map — quite literally, in many of its seasons. The title cards setting the scene in new countries or cities are not always accurate — they didn’t film in Russia, for instance — but production did shoot in England, Italy, Spain, Romania, France, The Netherlands, and Germany, among others.
