Rome has two airports: Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, better known as Fiumicino Airport, and Ciampino Airport, which is mainly served by low-cost airline companies.
Fiumicino Airport is located 30 km away from Rome’s city centre. You can easily get there by both bus (Terravision, Autostradale and Fiumicino Express) and train (Leonardo Express and regional train services).
Ciampino Airport is located in South-Eastern Rome, 16 km away from the city centre. To get there, take a regional train to Ciampino train station and hop on one of the Cotral/Schiaffini buses that go to the airport.
There are three airports in Milan – Malpensa Airport, the main airport of the city, Linate Airport, the third busiest airport in Lombardy, and Bergamo Airport, which is 5 km away from Bergamo city centre.
Malpensa Airport is in North-Western Milan, 50 km away from the city centre. Getting to the airport is super easy thanks to the fast-regional train Malpensa Express operated by Trenord and the efficient bus network in the area.
Linate Airport is only 7 km away from the city centre and is mainly used for domestic flights. There are plenty of buses you can take from Milan city centre to get there.
