Isilines was founded in 2015 during the liberalisation of the French long-distance bus market by the Transdev Group. The French multinational Transdev is one of the world's most renowned operators of public transport and a member of the European network Eurolines. The red Isilines buses carried passengers across 29 routes, a truly comfortable way of travelling to the big cities, but also to winter and summer holiday destinations in France.

The 130 red buses from Isilines travelled from Paris criss-crossing France. The 29 lines included eleven seasonal lines that connect French ski resorts in winter. The network comprised 99 lines, but the total number of destinations was 1,710 since there were several stops on each route. Isilines offered travellers an easy changeover to Eurolines France to reach destinations abroad.
The Isilines Red Bus fleet of 130 vehicles offered passengers a comfortable way of travelling. All buses were equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, not just in terms of comfort but also safety. In addition, the buses met the latest environmental standards and included air conditioning, toilets and 4G WiFi. The seats were reclinable, with seat belts, headrests and footrests as well as plenty of legroom. Each seat was equipped with a reading lamp, a socket or USB connection and a small folding table. Passengers could read a book in the dark, charge their phones and chat or work on a laptop.
Included in the fare was a piece of luggage weighing up to 20 kg plus carry-on luggage. Small dogs and cats could be taken on the bus in a transport box if they weighed no more than 5 kg.
