About Irish Citylink

Famous for their yellow and blue liveried buses, the Galway-based Irish Citylink coach company has been running luxury coach services in Ireland since 2003. They now offer six main routes with 100 departures every day and they pride themselves on their high quality, reliable and affordable coach travel.

Irish Citylink routes to Dublin and Dublin Airport

Irish Citylink operates two intercity Dublin Airport transfer services: an Eireagle direct Galway to Dublin Airport bus service and an Eireagle Limerick to Dublin Airport bus service. They also operate an Irish Citylink Express Galway to Dublin Airport bus service, which travels via Dublin city centre.

Irish Citylink Eireagle Galway to Dublin Airport bus

Irish Citylink’s Eireagle Galway to Dublin Airport bus service takes passengers from Galway to the airport (or from the airport to Galway) in 2 hours 30 minutes. The journey runs between Galway and Dublin Airport, without stopping. Between 6 and 7 Eireagle buses run in each direction every day.

Irish Citylink Eireagle buses depart from Galway New Coach Station at 01:15, 02:15, 03:15, 04:15, 08:30, 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30 every day. In the other direction, they depart from Dublin Airport bus terminal’s Zone 13 at 00:30, 01:15 (Mondays only), 14:15, 16:15, 18:15 and 00:30.

 

Irish Citylink Express Galway to Dublin Airport bus service (via Dublin city centre)

Slightly cheaper than Irish Citylink’s Eireagle buses, Irish Citylink Express Galway to Dublin Airport bus service stops in Dublin city centre en route. It takes 2 hours 30 minutes to get from Galway to Dublin city centre and vice versa. After that, it’s another 30 minutes to Dublin Airport.

From Galway, the service runs every 60 minutes from 05:15 to 19:15 Monday to Saturday and to 21:15 on Sunday. From Dublin Airport, the service runs 7 days a week from 6:15 to 23:15. These buses depart every hour, except for 11:15, 14:15, 16:15 and 18:15 when no buses depart.

Irish Citylink Eireagle Limerick to Dublin Airport bus service

The Irish Citylink Eireagle Limerick to Dublin Airport bus service takes passengers direct from Limerick City to Dublin Airport and vice versa in 2 hours 30 minutes. Passengers wishing to travel to Dublin City centre can take further bus services from Dublin Airport.

From March 12th 2018 a new timetable has come into effect for this bus service. The service now departs Limerick city centre from Arthur’s Quay every 2 hours, from 01:30 to 19:30. 5 minutes after departing, the bus also picks passengers up from Hurler’s Pub. In the other direction, the bus departs from Zone 14 of Dublin Airport’s bus terminal every 2 hours from 06:00 to 22:00, followed by a final bus at 00:30.

Travel information

Luggage

Each passenger has a luggage allowance of 2 x 20 kilogram medium-sized suitcases or backpacks. You can also carry one item of hand luggage on the bus, so long as it fits in the overhead rack or under the seat. Additional luggage may be subject to an additional fee of €5 per bag. Irish Citylink will also carry bicycles for €5 per bicycle, as long as there is enough room in the undercarriage.

 

WiFi

All Irish Citylink coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi, which can help save on mobile data charges.

Travelling with children

Children between 4 and 14 years of age can travel at up to 60% off a single fare. For further reductions, Irish Citylink offers reduced fare family tickets for families of 2 adults and 2 children. For each full fare paying adult, one infant of 3 years of age or younger can travel for free. A full child’s fare will need to be paid for any additional infants.    

 

 

 

For your comfort

All Irish Citylink coaches come equipped with reclining seats, air-conditioning and onboard toilet facilities. Free water bottles are available onboard.

Ticket types

Single tickets

Irish Citylink single fares start at €13 for an adult ticket from Galway to Dublin city centre. Single tickets from Galway to Dublin Airport cost €18 for the express and €19 for the Eireagle service. A single for the Eireagle service from Limerick to Dublin Airport costs €24.

 

Return tickets

It’s cheaper on Irish Citylink to book a return journey over two single fares. You must book the date of your return journey in advance.

Student and Senior tickets

Students and senior citizens can get slightly reduced fares on Irish Citylink tickets. They must, however, produce a valid ID on boarding the bus.

 

Family tickets

Irish Citylink offers reduced fare family tickets for 2 adults and 2 children. Note, infants aged 3 or under can travel for free, so long as they’re accompanied by a full fare paying adult.

You can buy Irish Citylin tickets through various distribution channels. However, the fastest way to purchase tickets is via the Trainline website or app. In just a few clicks, you can get tickets for your flight dates, meaning one less thing to worry about.

We recommend booking well in advance of your journey to guarantee a seat. Tickets booked in advance can also be amended via telephone and Citylink will put you on the next available service if your inbound flight is delayed. Providing enough seats are available, you can alternatively buy tickets on the bus.
