GoBus.ie is a locally owned Galway coach company that runs low-cost and convenient transport from Galway and Cork to Dublin Airport and vice versa. Most of these buses stop once in Dublin city centre en route.

GoBus.ie operates two intercity airport transfer services: a Galway to Dublin Airport bus service and a Cork to Dublin Airport bus service. Most buses on the Galway to Dublin Airport route and all buses on the Cork to Dublin Airport route also stop in Dublin city centre.
The GoBus.ie Galway to Dublin Airport bus journey takes only 3 hours with a stopover in Dublin city centre. The journey in the other direction, from Galway to Dublin Airport via Dublin city centre, also takes 3 hours. A few buses also run direct from Galway to Dublin Airport without stopping, with the journey taking 2 hours 30 minutes. Similarly, one direct bus runs in the other direction each day from Dublin Airport to Galway without stopping, taking 2 hour 30 minutes.
16 buses run each day in both directions, at intervals of every 1 to 2 hours (usually every hour). On Friday and Sunday evenings, extra buses run in both directions, all of these stopping in Dublin city centre.
The buses depart Galway from New Coach Station on Fairgreen Road. If you’re travelling from Dublin Airport, you can catch the bus from Zone 13 of the airport’s bus terminal. In Dublin city centre, the bus departs from Burgh Quay towards Galway and from Eden Quay towards Dublin Airport.
The Cork to Dublin Airport bus service is actually run by a subsidiary company of GoBus.ie called GoBé.ie. The buses are the same as the GoBus.ie buses, but with different branding.
The journey takes only 3 hours between Cork and Dublin city centre and then an extra 15 to 30 minutes between Dublin city centre and Dublin Airport. 8 buses run every day in each direction, every 1 to 2 hours. Additional buses run in both directions on Friday and Sunday.
From the 22nd January 2018, the bus departs from a new location in Cork. You can now catch it from St. Patrick’s Quay, in Coach Parking Bay 1 near St. Patrick’s Bridge. If you’re travelling from Dublin Airport, you can catch the bus from Zone 10 Stop 2 of the airport’s bus terminal. In Dublin city centre, the bus departs from Burgh Quay towards Galway and from Eden Quay towards Dublin Airport.
Each passenger has a luggage allowance of 2 x 20 kilogram medium-sized suitcases or backpacks. You can also carry one item of hand luggage on the bus, so long as it fits in the overhead rack or under the seat. Additional luggage, including sports equipment, costs €5 per bag (subject to available space). All sports equipment, as well as any fragile items, must be appropriately packaged.
All GoBus.ie coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi which can help save on mobile data charges. The coaches also have onboard charging sockets for laptops and mobile devices.
Children under 15 years of age can travel at between 20% to 25% off both online and offline fares. For further reductions, GoBus.ie offers reduced fare family tickets for families of 2 adults and 2 children. For each full fare paying adult, one infant of 3 years of age or younger can travel for free.
All GoBus.ie coaches come equipped with reclining seats, air-conditioning and onboard toilet facilities.
GoBus.ie single fares start at €13 for an adult ticket from Galway to Dublin city centre and €14 for an adult ticket from Cork to Dublin city centre. For the lowest fares, we recommend you book online.
It’s cheaper on GoBus.ie to book a return journey over two single fares. You can also book an open return. However, once you know your date of return travel, we recommend you contact GoBus.ie to book your seats.
Students can get slightly reduced fares on select GoBus.ie tickets. They must, however, produce a student ID on boarding the bus. Senior citizens can also get reduced return tickets on the Galway to Dublin Airport route.
GoBus.ie offers reduced fare family tickets for 2 adults and 2 children. Note, infants aged 3 or under can travel for free, so long as they’re accompanied by a full fare paying adult.
You can buy GoBus.ie tickets through various distribution channels. However, the fastest way to purchase tickets is via the Trainline website or app. In just a few clicks, you can get tickets for your flight dates, meaning one less thing to worry about.
We recommend booking well in advance of your journey to guarantee a seat. Providing enough seats are available, you can alternatively buy tickets on the bus.
