First Class on LNER’s Azuma trains
LNER’s ultra-modern Azuma trains launched in 2019, offering increased comfort and quicker journeys for passengers travelling between London, the East Midlands, Yorkshire, North East England and Scotland. Added benefits of travelling in First Class on Azuma trains include:

LNER offer complimentary food and drinks throughout the day in First Class, meaning you can arrive at your destination full of energy and ready to go.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in their exclusive deli menu, with hot and cold sandwiches to choose from, as well as hot and cold drinks. Alcohol is served from 11:00 or 12:00 depending on the train.
LNER First Class seating plan
You’ll normally find First Class seating in coaches D, E, K, L, or M on LNER trains (look for the First Class sign by the door). The seats are more spaced out than in Standard Class, although they follow the same arrangement on either sitting at a table of four or two seats next to each other. The extra option in First Class are single seats with their own table, perfect for solo travellers who want their own space.

LNER's new First Class lounge at York station
Opened in July 2021, the First Class lounge at York station offers comfortable and cosy seating, complimentary hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Available for all First Class ticket holders, the lounge celebrates York's rich history, featuring artwork and Viking sculptures by local artists.
There's also modern workspaces with plug sockets for business travellers or those who want to stay connected before their journey.

How to get cheap LNER First Class tickets
There are different ways you can get cheap LNER First Class train tickets without having to pay over the odds. Our top tips for saving money on First Class train tickets are:
Travel Off-Peak
Tickets for travel during Off-Peak hours (anytime outside of Monday to Friday rush hours) are normally cheaper, plus the trains are usually quieter too.
Book in advance
LNER usually release Advance tickets up to 12 weeks before the departure date, usually at their cheapest price. So, book your tickets as early as possible if you want to save a pretty penny or two.
Use a Railcard
