Emily in Paris? More like Envy in Paris.

Netflix’s chic guilty pleasure just announced its next season. Emily in Paris season 4, part 1 will be released on Aug. 15, 2024, while part 2 will follow on Sept. 12, 2024.

That leaves roughly a month in between, which is just enough time to cosplay Mademoiselle Cooper and visit the Emily in Paris filming locations from past seasons, all while presumably having steamy encounters with handsome chefs and documenting all your fashion faux pas on Instagram.

And you can do it all with ease via train.

What is the plot of Emily in Paris season 4?

Spoilers to follow: Emily in Paris season 4 picks up after the cliffhanger at the close of season 3. Camille not only calls off the wedding to Gabriel, but also calls out his feelings for Emily, confirming Alfie’s fears. It seems like Emily and Gabriel will have time to explore their feelings as they try to secure a Michelin star, but we have a sneaky suspicion that other not-so-loving secrets will likely disrupt their path of passion…

Is Alfie in season 4 of Emily in Paris?

Yes, Lucien Laviscount returns as Alfie. We’re curious to see how he handles the shake-up from season 3. Even though the will-they/won’t-they between Emily and Gabriel is leaning towards “will,” we can’t help but wonder if there’s a “could be” still on the horizon for Alfie and Emily.

Is Gabriel in love with Emily?

Well, everyone at his and Camille’s failed wedding certainly believes so – and that goes double for poor Alfie. We think Gabriel’s love for Emily has only grown from season to season, but regardless of how much he loves her, the big question is: can he turn that love into a healthy relationship?

Does Emily end up with Gabriel or Alfie?

As of the end of Emily in Paris season 3, Emily, Alfie, and Gabriel are all single. We already know that Emily will start season 4 much closer to Gabriel than Alfie, but Alfie stans should still hold out hope. This is a two-part season, after all.

Emily in Paris season 4 cast

Emily in Paris season 4’s cast will naturally see the return of Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, Samuel Arnold as Julien, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, and Camille Razat as Camille.

Where to watch Emily in Paris season 4

Emily in Paris season 4 is a Netflix exclusive that is only available on the streamer. Season 4 drops its first part on Aug. 15, 2024, followed by its second part on Sept. 12, 2024.

Will there be a season 5 of Emily in Paris?

Yes, it’s heavily suggested that there will be a season 5 of Emily in Paris, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Netflix. The implication comes straight from the Cannes Film Festival where the series creators officially auctioned off a walk-on role for Emily in Paris season 5, which is rumored to start shooting in mid-2025. We know one thing for sure: the auction winner has $275,000 reasons to want Netflix to officially announce season 5 of Emily in Paris ASAP.

Très good: Emily in Paris season 1-3 filming locations

So many fabulous Emily in Paris filming locations, so little time. Thankfully, Paris’ rail network includes both trains and the Métro, allowing you to visit your favorite backdrops from the show, including:

Place de l'Estrapade

Closest station: Cardinal Lemoine (Paris Métro)

Emily lives at Place de l'Estrapade, which is in the 5th arrondissement. Called the Latin Quarter, it’s one of the best neighborhoods to stay in Paris

Le Jules Verne

Closest stations: Champ de Mars–Tour Eiffel | Pont de l'Alma

No trip to Paris is complete without an Eiffel Tower selfie. While you’re there, head into the tower’s Le Jules Verne restaurant and hope that Madeline, Emily, and Sylvie aren’t ruining the vibe with a heated argument.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

Closest stations: Buttes Chaumont (Paris Métro) | Botzaris (Paris Métro)

Nothing says romance in France quite like a picnic in a Parisian park (especially with a guy like Alfie lounging beside you on the blanket). Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a wonderful place to find a breath of fresh air, tranquil walking trails, and a wonderful restaurant if you’re short of a picnic basket.

Place de Valois

Closest station: Palais Royal–Musée du Louvre (Paris Métro)

The offices of Savoir have a pretty swanky address in Place de Valois, next to the Domaine National du Palais-Royal.

Café de Flore

Closest station: Saint-Germain-des-Prés (Paris Métro)

Emily and Thomas visit Café de Flore in season 1, the legendary haute French restaurant that’s a must-visit for any first trip to Paris.

Hôtel Molitor

Closest station: Porte d'Auteuil (Paris Métro)

You need a place to stay, so why not choose a room at the Molitor? The rooftop pool makes quite a splash in the third season. Just don’t expect free samples of Soleil de Paris.

La Boulangerie Moderne | Gabriel’s restaurant

Closest station: Cardinal Lemoine (Paris Métro)

In the same neighborhood not far from her apartment, you’ll also find Emily’s favorite bakery, so grab a pain au chocolat then pop next door for a meal at Terra Nera, a.k.a. Gabriel’s restaurant (Les Deux Compères/Chez Lavaux/L'Esprit de Gigi).

Palais Garnier

Closest station: Opéra (Paris Métro)

Whether or not you’re ambushing a beau during Swan Lake, the Palais Garnier opera house is a sight to see. Plus, it’s a short walk to Pont Alexandre III, the site of the Maison Lavaux perfume ad.

Musée des Arts Forains

Closest station: Cour Saint-Émilion (Paris Métro)

The Fourtier party in season 1 gets an awesome venue at Musée des Arts Forains. Located in Bercy Village, the museum is just one of the attractions that these former wine cellars hold.

Atelier des Lumières

Closest station: Rue Saint-Maur (Paris Métro)

Another museum featured in Emily in Paris, Emily, Gabriel, and Camille visit this immersive space where classic art comes to life around you.

Café de l'Homme

Closest station: Trocadéro (Paris Métro)

Located across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower, Café de l'Homme is where the De L'Heure launch party was hosted.

Emily in Paris filming locations outside of Paris

To capture the full Emily in Paris experience, one must spend a weekend in the French Riviera.

Unless your name is Gabriel, you don’t have to choose between the cosmopolitan protagonist that is Paris and the stunning, sophisticated beauty of the French Riviera. You can fall in love with both, guilt-free, with a loving locomotive as your matchmaker.

While there is no direct train to Saint-Tropez, a stunning scenic train ride from Paris to Nice will get you to the French Riviera with ease. To access Saint-Tropez, you’d need to ride the rails to the St-Raphaël–Valescure or Les Arcs–Draguignan stations then take a bus into Saint-Tropez.

But, spoiler alert, many of season 2’s scenes weren’t actually filmed in Saint-Tropez and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express doesn’t roll that far south. The “fake” Saint-Tropez, a lovely seaside town called Villefranche-sur-Mer, is accessible via train from Nice

And Nice is nice. The Nice Côte d'Azur Airport offers direct flights from the United States, making it a wonderful introduction to France. From Nice, you can take a direct train to Paris, as well as short yet sweet train rides to Cannes and Monaco.

Getting around the French Riviera by train is surprisingly smooth; some actually find it much more convenient and reliable than rideshares. The biggest obstacle US travelers face, beyond the language barrier, are the antiquated train ticket machines. Some visitors find it difficult to figure out which ticket they need, resulting in long lines at these kiosks.

But you don’t have to stress about missing your train. Download the Trainline app and purchase tickets directly from your phone so your trip is filled with joie de vivre, not champagne problems.

Remember, a little “bonjour” may go a long way, but saying “oui” to train travel will take you farther in France.
