Chadwell Heath train station, in Travelcard Zone 5, is on the border of the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenhamand Redbridge, shipping locals and visitors in and out of an area heaving with restaurants and gastro-pubs, offering cuisine from every corner of the world. Chadwell High Road, in front of the station, in particular, is a foodie mecca. In the opposite direction, to the south of the station, is the Kinvara Business Park, making the station very popular with commuters both in and out of central London on journeys that take approximately 25 minutes. Currently, trains leave Chadwell Heath at the same time, every ten minutes, in both directions for London Liverpool Street from platform 3 and Shenfield from platform 4.
The station, which was built in the 1860s, is readying itself for the largest boost in passenger numbers since it first opened its doors, when Crossrail arrives at Chadwell Heath in 2019.
