Avignon TGV train station

Avignon TGV train station is located within the territory of Avignon, south of the city centre. Built-in 2001, it reflects its relative modernity through the contemporary design — an upside-down boat hull and an impressive glass roof. Roughly 130 trains are welcomed through its six platforms every day. Many high-speed trains pass through the station, making it reachable from Paris in just 2h30mins and from Marseille in less than 40 minutes! Intercity and TER trains also pass through the station, making it a perfect hub for long-distance and short-distance travel. Just outside the station, visitors will be able to catch the buses and taxis awaiting their arrival. Thanks to these services, it takes under 20 minutes to reach Avignon Airport and even less time to visit the city centre, allowing for easy onward travel and time to discover all that this picturesque French city has to offer.

After taking in the spectacular views, travellers should head on to the Palais des Papes, which is a 10-minute walk south. This palace was once the residence of the papal court and it was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
